Hello,
Brissa was diagnosed with Autism when she was three. Since then she and our family have received a lot of help and support from numerous organizations. Brissa is now eleven and will be entering 7th grade next year. She plays the flute in the school band and sings with the school choir. She also enjoys riding the motorcycles with either mom or dad.
We've been looking for a way to give back and that's why we started Los Angeles Ride for Autism. Along with people like you we can assist these organizations that help individuals and their families that are affected by the Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Thank You
Anthony and Patricia

Hello everyone,
My name is Rosa Soto from La Habra. The main reason why I got involved as a volunteer in the planning committee for Rideforautism.org is because I have a niece, in Texas, with Autism and I wanted to learn more about it, but along with what I have learned I have had such an experience that has been so overwhelming and I have gained and learned more personally than what I can ever give back.
I have been involved in the ride for 3 years now and I really enjoy meeting new people and I have gained great new friends. I also like going to all the different biker events to promote our ride and found how awesome and giving the "biker" community is. Within the ride committee I have met a group of wonderful people who I consider family and see that they all do the ride for different reasons but all with the same passion, and this is what has helped our event be the great ride it
has turned out to be year after year. Without the generosity of our sponsors and riders we would not be able to have such a great turn out and ride. Thanks to all for your support, each and every one of you are a great part of our success. I look forward to seeing, and meeting all of you at our ride, so please stop by the registration table to say hi.
Ride Safe,
Rosa Soto

Hi,
My name is Gaby Duarte. I have a beautiful 10 year old daughter named Alicia. She was diagnosed with Autism when she was 6 years old. I had never heard of Autism before and had no clue were to start helping Alicia. The first questions I had were: Is it curable? How did she get it? I had to educate myself to better understand and help her. I became apart of RIDE FOR AUTISM because I want to do my part in making people more aware of Autism and to raise funds to benefit those affected by Autism. Alicia has come so far in the last couple of years. The unselfishness of other people picking up the pieces has helped Alicia grow tremendously. Together we can all continue breaking through barriers of AUTISM.
Thank you,
Gaby Duarte.

 Hello Everyone,
My name is Nancy G. Toscano from Santa Ana , CA . The reason for my involvement in Rideforautism.org and other Autism organizations (in hopes to find a cure) is because my nephew, Andrew Garcia was an autistic child. At that time I didn’t understand this condition. As I researched for myself and the rest of the family I found Autism to be a complex mystery which no-one seems to be able to solve. It’s a jigsaw puzzle where the pieces don’t quite fit. Andrew was very young when diagnosed with Autism and life changed for the whole family. As he grew older he became our joys and sorrows of everyday. He had a remarkable way of dealing with day-to-day activities and fascinated me in all he was able to do. Yet so much of the normal functions in life were strange to him; communication and social skills. Yes, my nephew, ANDREW was different. He was a complex individual who taught me patience, tolerance, compassion and understanding. I count myself very lucky to have had him in my life.
Unfortunately, Andrew (8 years old) passed away in his sleep by his mother’s side on 12/14/05.

Hello Everyone,
We joined Ride for Autism in 2007; this is our second year on the committee. We have met so many wonderful people since we've joined the committee. I wished that everybody knew bikers like we do. Bikers have the hugest hearts! I want to thank each and every one of you that come out to the ride to show your support. It is such an amazing feeling to feel that kind of support for your child, and for all who live with autism. We have an amazing 7 year old son who has Autism. EJ was diagnosed with autism at age 5. EJ has quite a personality; he is always trying to make you laugh. (Once you get to know him) He's a very happy and loving little boy.EJ is doing amazing in school. He is learning math and he's starting to read some words! He loves music and going for motorcycle rides down the long driveway. His feet don't quite reach the pegs yet, so it's only the driveway for now. He really loves to go fast too! This worries me! (Grin)
We joined Ride for Autism to help spread awareness, and to help our son. We also love to ride! Thanks again for coming out and raising funds to help those who are affected by autism.
Ride safe,
Tabatha, Erich, and EJ too!
